  WEEKLY FEATURE CARS

September 17 Feature Car belongs to Cruiser Kevin Burton. Kevin bought this bright yellow 23 T complete with a 370 horse balanced350 running a Thumper Cam, a 350 tranny and Ford 8" rear-end. It has disc brakes for stopping power and rides on Weld Wheels. It looks like fun to me!!!

August 6 Feature Car is a 1973 lime green Plymouth Roadrunner and is owned by Corky & Becky Cowan, members of the Panhandle Cruisers since 2008. The Roadrunner is powered by a modified 440 with a 727 TorqueFlite automatic. Power is put to the ground using an 8 3/4 sure grip with 323 gears. With disk brakes up front and 11” drums on the back the powerful little roadrunner is a fun and very drivable car. With its bright color and interior, sitting on 18” rubber, this car attracts many spectators at car shows.

July 30 Feature Car Is a 1960 Chevrolet Impala and it belongs to Don and Cheryl Copeland. They picked it up a couple of months ago because Cheryl owned a 59 Impala that was almost just like it when she was a teenager. Cheryl has a picture of her at the front of her 59 and a friend at the back way back when so we were able to post a before and after picture. The 60 runs a 348 with a three speed and is all stock. Many of us wish we had our first car or one like it again and Don made shure Cheryl does.

July 9 Feature Car was 6 years in the making on a shoe string budget and belongs to Brian Boyle. It is a 1935 Chevt Truck Rat Rod and is very well done. It runs the Vvenable Chevy 350 through a Ford 8inch rear end with a 48 Ford beam up front and is all held together by a home spun frame. This little Beasty is choped 3 inches and channeled 7 inches with suicide doors. Bryan gives credit to Mad Jack Taylor, Leonard Smith, Rick Boyle (Brian's Dad) and all his buds and family for helping and being patient. Way to go Brian!!!

September 4 Feature Car is one of three. It belongs to Aaron Graham and it is a 1932 Graham Replica. Now this car is not just another kit car because there are only 3 as I mentioned before so don't go lookin for one in your favorite rag. The Graham was built by Graham Bows in Fontana, California and Aaron bought it in 1989 in Medford, Oregon.  It sits on 1972 Ford LTD running gear attached to a hand built frame and has a Ford 400 Modified and a C6 tranny. Aaron's Graham sure keeps the Ford boys smiling.

FeatureCar/AaronGraham.jpg

August 14 Feature car Belongs to Roger and Rosemary Cowan and is a one off GT40 by Lone Star Classic in Fort Worth, Texas. This little red beauty packs a 600 HP 302 Ford motor that puts the 6oo horses to the ground by way of a 2FI trans axle. Sounds like a lot of fun to me!!! This Feature Car is sponsored by Iron Horse Restorations.

FeatureCar/RogerRosemaryCowan.jpg

July 17 Feature Car is a 1951 Pro Street Chevy Pick Up and it belongs to Sam Archer. Sam's Viper Red Pick Up was featured in the 1996 May issue of Super Chevy Magazine. It has a ZZ3 350 motor to force the little red truck foward. Sam can pick up the milk on the way home and get it there before it even starts to sweat. This Feature Car is sponsored by Iron Horse Restorations.

FeatureCar/SamArcher2.jpg

July 10 Feather Car is a 1960 Buick Electra and it belongs to Bill Pudsey. This sweat stocker runs off one of the famous nailheads. A 401 Nailhead to be exact. It has a Dynaflowtranny and about all bill has had to do to it is rebuild the heads and the generator. It is for sale folks! This Feature Car is sponsored by Iron Horse Restorations.

FeatureCar/BillPudsey.jpg

July 3 Feature Car is a General Lee look a like and is owned buy Bill Andress. Bill has only had the General For a year and he loves it. He also knows where all the other clones are hiding in the area too. Bill's General is motorvated by a 383. This feature Car is sponsored by Iron Horse Restorations.

November 28 Feature Car Is a stock original 1926 Model T Touring Car with a new coat of Phoenix Brown paint and it belongs to Donna Notaro. Her husband Tom thinks it is his car and says Donna is a Speed Demon in it but I think it is all Donna's and she loves to drive it. Donna loves to explain all the the pedals to admirers, three pedals doesn't unnecessarily mean you can drive this thing, because they aren't what you might think. The right pedal is the brake, the center pedal is reverse, the left pedal is the forward gears and the throttle and spark advance are on the steering wheel. Now how many of you would have kissed the wind shield on this one???

FeatureCar/DonnaNotaro.jpg

November 14 Feature Car Belongs to Dave Adams. Dave is seen around in more than one nice little Ford product but on this night he chose to bring out his 1965 Comet Caliente. Daves Caliente's camed up 289 breaths in through a 4 barrel carb, intake, over-sized valves and out through over-sized valves and a Flowmaster's 2 1/2 inch exhaust system. The power made from those goodies passes through a C4 tranny with a shift kit to a 3:50 geared 9inch rear end and on through a set of Crager 5 spokes to the ground. Just for comfort Dave added an electric opener to the deck lid and a custom BMW interior. I'd say Dave likes his comfort to move at a faster pace than most.

FeatureCar/DaveAdams.jpg

November 7 Feature Car Is a 27 Ford Tudor Sedan and it belongs to Shelley Kurtz who is one of our new members. Shelley bought her ride in 2007 and has since installed air conditioning, new exhaust, new wiring kit, transmission and Dayton Rims. The Rod motorvates through a 305ci Chevy connected to the same brand 700R4 and on through that new set of Dayton 88 spoke chrome wires wrapped in Goodyear rubber to the asphalt. It also sports peach paint, a Navy blue top and a tan interior. I think Shelley is ready for the road.

FeatureCar/ShellyKurtz.jpg

October 24 Feature Car Was found in Colorado by David Brown and is a 1956 Olds 98 Starfire Convertable. It sports 324 cubes of Olds Rockt T350 engine and a hydramatic trans and is covered in red and white on it's exterior and has a matching color interior. It rides on wide whites with original Olds Spinners. Like the commercial says, "Oh that 56 Oldsmobile.

DavidBrown.jpg

September 5 Feature Car is a little different. It is a 1965 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Custom and is owned by Gary & Mary Mierzwa. Gary purchased Corvicillin in April of this year. After noticing it was for sale Gary did a two way 100 yard dash to and from his wife to ask if they should get it. I can imagine the 9 year old kid dance Mary witnessed. Corvicillin is painted Tangerine Pear and runs a 164cu 110hp 6cylinder air cooled Covair engine connected to a 2 speed Powerglide tranny which is all in the rear for those of you who have never seen one. The emblems were shaved and it was lowered and has 92 Honda Civic seats, front disc brake conversion, 85 Olds Cutlass wheels with custom center caps, fiberglass rocker panel covers and a custom 550 watt 7 speaker sound system. like I said, it is a little different.

GaryMierzwa.jpg

August 29 Feature Car is a 1995 Mustang GT and it belongs to Jason Cook. Jason's 95 sports a stoked 5.0 built by Renegade Performance breathing in through a cold air intake and a custom painted intake and puffing out through a set of long tube hedders and a Pro Chamber exhaust system equipped with Pro Dump mufflers. A set of 335s on 18 inch wheels give this Stang the right stance and the custom flamed paint gives it attitude.Don't know about anyone else but Jason likes it.

FeatureCar082909.jpg

August 22 Feature Car is a Black 65 Mustang That belongs to Anna Marie Usry. Anna Marie's sweet little pony has be restored and sports a 289/C4 combo and all red interior. It has picked up a few new shiny parts, grill bar, door handles and gas cap, to improve on the looks as well as a new set of Crager SS wheels. Personally I think that the Crager SS wheel was invented for the early Mustangs.

AnnaMarie.jpg

May 6 Feature Car is one clean1962 Vette and is a numbers matching all originalcar to boot. Norm Dolashewich is the happy owner of this gem. It has a 350 under the hood that is hooked to a 300 Powerglide. It sports power and a rare fawn colored interior. It must be nice to have such elegance with the power to blow the door handles of  of other cars.

NormDolashewich.jpg

May 2 Feature Car Belongs to Eddie Dawson. Eddie built his little glass bodied 27 Ford Roadster and it is his first hot rod. Motorvation is supplied by a Chevy LT1 thru a Powerglide tranny. Just goes to show you that it doesn't have to be complicated to be good. Simplicity wins out here.

EddieDawson.jpg

April 25 Feature Car is a 1970 Chevelle that belongs to Shane Jurjens and it was a father/son project. Driving a set of 411 gears is a 396 hooked to a 400 Turbo automatic. It breaths out through a set of custom 3" Flow Master pipes and rides on Keystone Classic wheels. I wonder if dad would like to adopt me???

ShaneJurgens.jpg

April 14 Feature Car is a 51 Ford Shoebox and it belongs to Bobby and Anna Marie Usry. Bobby has customized his coupe with all the right touches to make it stand out. The coupe runs an origanal drive train starting with an 8BA and ending with the stock geared rear end. It has a pair of 59 Caddy tail lights and 39 Ford brake lights and is painted in a glowing Firemist Red Metallic.

BobbyAnnaMarie.jpg

December 6 Feature car is a truck. A rat rod truch made from a 35 Caddy. it was built by Jack and Paula Taylor with the help of Mike Wilson, who bought it from Jack, and who ever else happened by. It has a 52 Ford front end and is powered by a 79 301 Pontiac hooked to a turbo 400 tranny spinning a Chrysler 3/4 rear end all mounted to an Isuzu Amigo frame. It has 35 Chevy cab corners, a 55 chevy bed, 60 Impala wagon wind shield, a 35 steering column and box, a 29 Ford grill shell and it all rides on painted on white walls. It has brakes on all 4, seat belts and all other safety items necessary for street Safe use. Just goes to prove that one mans trash is jack and Paula's treasure.

JackPaulaMike.jpg

November 1 Feature Car belongs to Scott Bowling and is a Sliver 2003 Mustang. Scott says the car is mostly stock except for a few minor things like a speed chip for a little more horse power, a trans kit to help during stampedes, a K&N air filter for easyer breathin in and a set of Flow Masters for huffing out. Makes for a nice little Stang don't you think?

ScottBowling.jpg

October 18 Feature Car is a truck. To be exact it is a Chevy Blazer but not just any Blazer. This Blazer runs a 350 backed by a 700r4 trany and has custom paint, foward opening hood, suicide doors, slide back canvas sun roof, airbags all around, Panther Juice wheels and a Fubar stereo. The owner is Ronny Watson but he gives credit for most of the work to his bud Damien Spring. Great ride guys.

October 4 Feature Car Is a 1930 Studebaker President that belongs to Tommie and Diane Capers. This blue with gray accent beauty is one of a handful on the road and is powered by the reliable 350/350 package driving a 79 Nova rear end. Tommy and Diane had a helper with the Stude, good friend Juanita Robbins, who is pictured with Tommy and still keeps an eye on the car.
